I have over 20 years’ experience in the assessment and treatment of mental illness and psychological problems. I am a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (FRCPsych). I have a Dual Certificate of Completion of training (CCT) in General Adult Psychiatry and also in Addictions Psychiatry in the UK. I am on the Specialist register of the General Medical Council. Following my basic medical Qualification (MBBS) I completed a post graduate qualification in psychiatry (MD) . I then secured a Diploma in Clinical Psychiatry in Leeds and a Postgraduate qualification in Health and Social care education.

I have made significant contributions to education and training in the NHS for which I was awarded at a National level, Trainer of the Year, by the Royal College of Psychiatry (2014). I also have been involved in several service improvement projects and audits within the NHS and won the Best Poster prize at the Royal College of Psychiatrist Eastern Division conference in 2013. I have also supervised several programmes such as the Chief resident programme and Quality Improvement fellows. For this work my supervisee won the Trainee Leader of the year award in 2015 in the Eastern Region.

I was awarded Fellowship by Royal College of Psychiatrists to demonstrate and evidence significant contributions to core purposes of college.  The fellowship is a mark of distinction and recognition of contribution to psychiatry.
